Graphology and Representation of Power
In the leaflet, power is reinforced throughout to show authority. Imperative verbs are used to convey a command which are an instrument of law however are hidden behind a more friendly approach; advice. Advice is normally given suggestively and encouragingly; but the bullet-points are given with a more bossy and authoritative approach. The logo is shown twice to derive influence and reinforce the authoritative tone behind the leaflet therefore effective in persuading the audience to buy travel insurance. The authority behind the leaflet is also conveyed through the repetitive presentation of the website which includes "gov.uk." which reinforces power by warning people of this authority and exposing the leaflet as official and important.
The points of advice are given in a professional and neat layout; listed in bullet points, to encourage someone to read through and take in each point of advice which is more effective than giving advice in a block of writing.
